Lighting and Electrical Expertise

BEI has prepared lighting designs of all complexities.  These range from full interchange to partial interchange lighting, roadway lighting in coordination with various utility relocations, and joint use with utility and signal poles.   BEI has been involved in outdoor lighting projects including master plans, parks, roadways, interstate highways, parking lots, bridges, photometric testing, pedestrian lighting and commuter rail stations.

LED Lighting

As Light-Emitting Diode (LED) technology advances, LED is becoming more popular and cost effective for roadway lighting. These projects highlight how several of BEI's LED lighting designs are used in Tennessee.

Roadway Lighting

Navigational Bridge Lighting

As part of the KYTC Electrical Engineering Design Services, BEI has prepared Navigational Bridge Lighting plans to upgrade the lighting and signing to the latest USCG bridge lighting codes.  One of the bridges, the KY 453 Bridge over the Barkley Canal will integrate new navigational bridge lighting equipment investigated by BEI.  The new fixture is a self contained, light weight, solar powered LED fixture.  This fixture will be the first of its kind to be installed on a KYTC bridge.
